  • Soft-soled, non-marking shoes for on-board use
  • Swim suit, beach towel, hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen
  • Snacks and alcohol if desired
  • A smile and a good collaborative perspective (see The Crew page for details)

3. Transportation

  • We will typically cast off and return to our home port in Gibsons BC (see Options below if you prefer a different location)
  • Gibsons is a beautiful 40-minute BC Ferries trip from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver
  • Your party and luggage will be picked up on the Gibsons side (i.e. at the Langdale ferry terminal) and driven to Gibsons Harbour, and back to the Langdale ferry terminal upon our return
  • If you opt to bring your own vehicle across, we will provide free parking for the duration of the charter
  • For detailed transportation directions from Vancouver to Gibsons, see question 02 on our FAQ

4. Options

  • Extra Accommodation: To make the adventure more comfortable for those travelling from afar, you may opt to stay overnight on the boat in the harbour the night before and/or after each charter for an additional $150 per night for the entire group, pending availability.
  • Shared Sailing: charters are typically arranged for a single group, but if you like to meet people and share costs**, let us know (or enable this option on the Trip Planner page). We will do our best to arrange a shared adventure that will work well for everyone. Note that this sharing option is available only for day charters, and not for overnight charters.
If an additional party cannot be arranged, the original party has two options: (1) cancel the charter with a full refund, or (2) pay the entire fee and have the boat to themselves.
**A discount of 40% of the regular charter fee is provided for each of the sharing parties, assuming that a minimum of two parties/four guests participate. For example, if two parties share a four-hour charter which normally costs $450, each would pay $270 (fee of $450 minus the 40% discount of $180). If two parties share an eight-hour charter, each would pay $420 (fee of $700 minus 40% discount). The fee is not distributed evenly among all parties because we retain 10% of the charter fee to cover the additional promotion, scheduling, and service required for multiple parties.
  • Alternate Home Port: charters are planned to begin and end at Gibsons Harbour. However, we can begin and/or end your adventure at an accessible location in downtown Vancouver (e.g. Coal Harbour or Granville Island) or at any other accessible sea side location on the Lower Mainland, Howe Sound, Sunshine Coast, or the east side of Vancouver Island. An additional charge will apply, based on the selected location. Alternate Ports and corresponding costs are provided on the Trip Planner page (with accompanying Map).
  • You can select any of the above options on the Trip Planner page, or just let us know!
  • Dockside Moorage: charters will typically be anchored or tied to a mooring buoy for evenings and overnights in destination ports. Optionally, guests may opt to tie-up at the dock of a nearby marina (if available), in which case the guests will be responsible for all dockage fees (typically $30 to $80 per night).
